Women’s Health & Menopause Care in Brighton.

Women’s health is finally being taken seriously, and women can be treated by women who actually understand it. What it still does not get, most places, is an appointment long enough to talk properly. Mine runs an hour. Hormone health, perimenopause and menopause, and hair loss, which nearly always comes up in the same conversation.

60 minutes · $350 · no referral needed

“Almost everything my patients describe, I have either been through myself or watched a friend get told was completely normal.”

This part of the practice grew because patients kept bringing it up. Never at a proper appointment. Always in the last two minutes of something unrelated, usually starting with "this is probably nothing, but".

So this appointment runs an hour. That is not me being generous, it is just how long the conversation takes. You will not be rushed, nothing you bring up will be treated as too small, and if I do not think something is right for you I will tell you.

Start with what is actually happening to you.

Most women arrive with a list of symptoms nobody has ever looked at together. Here is how the things patients most often raise translate into what we can work towards.

Sleep that has simply stopped working

A proper look at what may be driving it

A mood that does not feel like yours

An honest conversation about hormonal contributors

Cycle changes, flushes, night sweats

A supervised plan with reviews already booked

Brain fog, and words that will not arrive

Symptoms taken seriously rather than waved through

Thinning at the part or the temples

Assessment, and a pathway worth following

Being rushed out of every appointment

An hour, and the time to actually use it

WHAT YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Outcomes vary between individuals and depend on assessment. What is appropriate for you is discussed at your consultation.

WHAT WE CAN WORK TOWARDS

Recognise any of that? It is more than enough to book on.

How this works.

Two appointments to choose from. Follow-up reviews are arranged from there, because neither of these is ever a single decision.

Initial Consultation

60 minutes · $350

A discussion about the symptoms you’re experiencing and what can be done to help support you.

Your care team includes Rosie and an area specialist

A doctor or nurse practitioner who specialises in this area joins during your appointment. Your history and symptoms are written up beforehand so the time is used properly, the call happens while you are here in the clinic, and Rosie takes you through what was said afterwards. Both the specialist, and Rosie will support your continued care - so you have access to multiple care providers.

Rosie stays your point of contact throughout. She holds your history, and you can reach her between appointments.

What we treat.

Menopause & Perimenopause Consultation

For working through where you are, what your symptoms are doing and which pathways are worth considering. Reviews are built into the plan from the start, because this is rarely a single decision.

Booked follow-up to check how you are travelling and adjust. This is rarely a single decision, and the reviews are where most of the fine tuning happens.

Hair Loss Consultation

45 minutes · $150

For thinning or shedding, which so often runs alongside hormonal change. What your options are, and how we can help you.

Women’s Health Consultation

An hour covering symptoms, history and what you actually want to change. Longer than a standard visit because most of the value is in the conversation, not in what gets written at the end of it.

Consultation fees are listed above. Australian advertising regulations limit what clinics are permitted to publish about treatment options and their costs, so those are covered with you in person and written into your plan.

Not sure which one applies to you? Book the initial consultation and we will work it out together.

Where it actually shows up.

Symptoms arrive separately and each one has an innocent explanation, which is why most women have talked themselves out of it several times before they raise it. These are three of the places it shows up most often, and three of the things that come up most in this room.

Your skin

Oestrogen supports collagen, and it does not taper off gently. Skin often gets drier, thinner and less elastic over a year or two rather than gradually. Plenty of women notice their face has changed well before they connect it to anything hormonal, and treat it as a skincare problem when it is not only that.

Your hair

Thinning at the part or the temples, more shedding than usual, texture that has changed. It is common, and it is one of the symptoms women find hardest to raise, partly because it feels cosmetic when it rarely is.

Hot flushes and sleep

The symptom everyone knows, and often the one that finally makes someone book. They range from mildly irritating to genuinely disruptive, and sleep is usually the first thing to go with them.

General health information only. It is not a substitute for individual advice, and what applies to you is discussed at your consultation.

If any of that sounds familiar, it is worth an hour of someone’s attention.

What the first appointment is actually like.

If you have had short, rushed appointments about this before, this will not feel like those. Here is the whole thing.

01

Before you arrive

Book online or send a message. Jot down what you have noticed and roughly when it started. You do not need the correct terms for any of it.

02

In the room

An hour going through symptoms, history and what matters most to you. Nothing is treated as too small to mention.

03

The specialist call

Partway through, a doctor or nurse practitioner who specialises in this area joins by call. Your conversation continues with Rosie and the specialist.

03

The plan

Rosie takes you through what was said and what it means. You leave with a written plan and a clear view of cost. If something is not right for you, you will be told plainly.

04

The reviews

Bloods are arranged if they are needed, and your review is booked before you leave rather than left to you to chase.

Now you know how it works, the rest is easy

Also want something for your face?

Start with the 2 minute quiz. Tap the areas you would like to change, answer a few short questions, and we will point you towards the right consultation.

How long is the first appointment?

Written out in full rather than hidden behind a click, so search engines can read them and so can you.

How long is the first appointment?

An hour, and that is deliberate. Most women have never had that much uninterrupted time to talk about any of this.

What are my options?

That is exactly what the consultation is for. What is appropriate is assessed against your history and your symptoms, and sometimes the answer is that a particular pathway is not right for you. Either way you get a straight answer rather than a hedge.

I have been dismissed before. Will this be different?

The appointment is built around a long conversation instead of a short one, which is the real difference. Whether that fixes it for you is your call to make, not something I can promise on a website.

Can I bring my partner?

Yes, and a number of people do. Some of what changes affects more than just you, and having someone else hear the same conversation rather than a summary of it can help a great deal.

Will I need to keep coming back?

Reviews are part of the plan rather than an upsell. How often depends on where you are and what changes, and for most people it reduces over time as things settle.

Do I need a referral?

No. Book directly. A referral is not required for anything on this page, and there is no list to join first.

Am I too young for this conversation?

Perimenopause commonly begins in the forties and sometimes considerably earlier. Age on its own rules nothing in or out.

Why is hair loss on this page?

Because it so often sits alongside hormonal change. Separating them means two appointments and two conversations that should only ever have been one.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

Anything you have already been told, any recent blood work if you have it, a list of what you currently take, and a rough note of when things started. None of it is essential. All of it is useful.
